Bukkene Bruse
Agens AS er tildelt 200 000 kroner i utviklingstilskudd til spillet Bukkene Bruse fra Norsk Filmfond.

Spillkonseptet i Bukkene Bruse befinner seg i skjæringspunktet mellom interaktiv billedbok og spill, og formålet er å hjelpe de tre bukkene Bruse til seters for å gjøre seg fete. Bukkene skal som i eventyret over broen, og en etter en konfronteres de med trollet under broen. Den tredje og største bukken Bruse må stange trollet ut i elva for å komme videre. Bukkene Bruse er et interaktivt eventyr for nettbrett som iPad og Android-tablets. Spillets målgruppe er barn under 12 år. Planlagt lansering er mars 2012.

- Bukkene Bruse er et enkelt, men veldig sjarmerende prosjekt som forteller den velkjente historien om de tre bukkene Bruse. Prosjektet har en utypisk og fin grafikk og beveger seg i grenseland mellom spill og digital bok.

We are happy to announce that the VG+ application has been awarded the “Best Paid App” during the Cross Media Awards in Vienna. This year’s XMA Awards is WAN IFRA’s (World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers) own award to honor the best news app solution worldwide. And VG+ won it!

The jury consisted of gurus like Mario Garcia and Roger Fidler from Reynolds Journalism Institute in USA. Mario Garcia himself has this to say about the VG+ solution:

“VG of Norway gives us everything we wish to have in an iPad news app: The brand extension that takes us to the familiar, with the extras that exploit the potential of this great new platform; great use of imagery; simple, distinctive design; multimedia; multigenre; in my view, BEST of show.”

VG+ beat a great deal of international newspapers lik Sunday Times, Die Welt and Bloomberg News. The app scored better on all jury criteria- both content, consistency in design, integration of components and business model.

Here at Agens, we consider this a great honor. We are thankful that the jury enjoyed VG+ as much as we enjoy making it. However, there is still quite a lot of progression to be made- and the drawing board is full of ideas. We are thrilled to work on such an exiting project together with VG, the most vibrant newspaper in Norway when it comes to adapting new technology.

Norsk Tipping for iPhone is a quick and subtly branded application which gets most of the inspiration from the real-world feeling of visiting the local kiosk on the corner, picking the games of choice and just start betting. The receipts, the coupon graphics, the background panel from the RL stores, the ”pling” sound notification whenever you receive a push message containing live scores- it’s all there.

The app also features an instant live score service, live on-the-fly marker correction of the user’s receipts along with account info. After the release of the app, Norsk Tipping is reporting a steady growth in mobile betting.

Norsk Tipping was awarded with bronze at the Gulltaggen 2011 festival.

Agens helped Eniro become one of the first companies ever to use Augmented Reality technology in a commercial setting. In addition, the Gule Sider application also uses Picture Search which enables customers to take pictures of a product and search for it in Gule Siders database.

The Gule Sider application won the prize for best mobile solution in Norway during the annual Gulltaggen awards in 2010 and was also awarded in the category of digital innovation during Gullblyanten the same year. It also won the European EADP Award.

Agens maintains, refines and develops a considerable amount of data and source code for Eniro and delivers 3 different application product versions for the different countries, both for iOS and Android. That being said, all the source code is developed in a component-based structure, which gives a huge amout of flexibility when it comes to multi-market development. Agens is also currently working on a version of the Norwegian ”Gule Sider” app for the Windows Phone 7 Series.

The VG+ solution consists of an ambitious, scalable and flexible news engine- all made available in a handy, lightweight app. Fast downloads, huge galleries, smart ad management, a rich visual presentation with lots of template-based layout variation, smooth interaction and intelligent cache solutions altogether make VG+ a step forward in digital news platform design.

VG Pluss users can store different editions offline, share interesting articles with others and read old editions. It is also possible to adjust text size with the dynamic page rendering engine. The backend of VG Pluss is directly linked to VG’s own publishing suite. The editorial staff also have access to an especially- developed preview application which enables them to see 1:1 how the different articles will look before they get published. VG+ was the first daily news application in the world with a rich and varied template-based presentation for both landscape and portrait mode.

VG+ was awarded with a bronze medal during Gulltaggen 2011 in Norway. It is also nominated in the ”Biggest Innovation” category at Mediedagene 2011.
