Making audio tactile.
BBC set out to make an entirely new product around audio content, both live and podcasts as well as sound from their enormous archive.
Agens was invited to partake in the journey from the outset. We started designing and developing visual, strategic and technical explorations together with a tight-knit team from the BBC. We aspired to make audio content visual, tactile and easy to browse.
Radio Reimagined.
The series of explorations and design bursts were turned into concrete, testable prototypes that validated both technical and conseptual considerations. These prototypes were tested extensively, both internally and externally.
After a vast series of iterations, bugfixes and layers of polish, the BBC Sounds platform saw the light of day. It is now one of the world's largest public audio app available globally.
