In 2019, Agens and NG Nordic started a journey in the waste sector together with three other partners. The aim was to design sensors that could report fill levels in waste bins – and use the data to streamline waste collection.

Since the first pilot, the Reen journey has fundamentally changed how waste collectors operate. Not only do Reen's customers reduce their CO2 output drastically – they also collect more waste more efficiently.

At the time of writing, Reen has grown from a small startup to become the leading waste management SaaS provider in Europe.

REEN Control provides a simple and precise way to reduce CO2 emissions, cut costs, and achieve sustainability goals – with commercial properties, healthcare & hospitality and food services among the customers.

By offering a low-friction wasteroom weighing application connected to every tenant on-site, Reen Control offers instant insight into the amount and type of waste produced. The platform generates cost savings, and motivates action to reduce waste, food waste, and CO2 emissions.

The results created by the Reen products are no less than remarkable. Several of Reen's customers report cost savings up to 40%, due to added efficiency and the reduction of kilometers needed to collect the waste.

Others report CO2 savings up to 50%.

We have been a part of Reen since before the founding of the company. Initially, we discovered friction in the waste industry by observing how people worked, turning the insight into a concrete product in collaboration with NG Nordic.

Since then, we have contributed to Reen's growth by providing core UI/UX services and operational strategic input through our board position.

At the time of writing, Reen is Europe's leading provider of fill-level waste tech, with over 70,000 digitized containers. It's a journey we are proud to be a part of.
